When I wrote this review, I didn’t realize that this book was a spinoff from a series Noble and Anne Barwell wrote together, called The Sleepless City. Because I was curious, I just picked up The Electric Candle, which is actually number two in the series, written by Noble, but I really loved Forge from Code Name: Jack Rabbit, and I wanted more of that. His point of view is fun because he’s older, so he’s not completely young and silly–he sort of reminds of me of a character who could be played by Martin Freeman–but he gets caught up easily in the chaos around him. He also has a rich and interesting history with Declan, another vampire.
